About our company

Our experience spans over 20 years of working with many clients, small and large.

We work on a variety of projects which range in type from smaller challenging programs up to totally integrated communication campaigns; from the name, brand development and implementation, print collateral, advertising communications, major digital strategies, branded content and full video production, and campaigns. GRIT is led by Andrew Boal and Mark Gandolfo, who are supported by a wonderful team of smart, energetic, clever thinking, brand and digital designers and art directors, programmers, technicians, writers and producers.

Leadership.

Mark Gandolfo

Mark has worked for major communication companies including Y&R and DDB. He has also been a director and founder of an international award winning interactive comms company managing a large team of experts. Visual Purple led the way in the digital space in Australia through the mid 90s to 2003.

His background is in brand strategy with a speciality in digital solutions. Brands include Telstra, Cadbury, Mc Vities Biscuits, Toyota, Foster’s Brewing Group, Holden, The Salvation Army Aged Care Plus, Ansell Healthcare, The Salvation Army Employment Plus and many others. Mark has recently developed campaigns and led digital programs for the RANZCO, Quantum Business Finance, Austin Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital, Synergistiq, Downer, Mineral Technologies, and Lend Lease.

Andrew Boal

Andrew is a Creative Director that has worked in the digital advertising space for almost 15 years, having been involved in almost every facet of the industry imaginable. He has overseen the building of entire platforms that connect American Express merchants seamlessly to Foursquare and Facebook, has created fully integrated campaigns that included TV commercials featuring a sock puppet for Telstra. Directed short films, shot fashion videos, coded websites, phone apps, copy-written TV ads, short films and feature films. Even ghost wrote Taylor Swift’s tweets once.

Andrew was the US Digital Creative Director for Olay, Gillette, Duracell, and American Express. Locally in Australia, I have worked with brands as diverse as ANZ, Sensis, AAMI, Just Car Insurance, Heinz, PZ Cussons, Michelin, Energy Australia, Barilla and lead winning pitches for U by Kotex, Golden Crumpets, Energizer-Schick, Banana Boat and Eveready.
